Recent Highlights

2011

• October 31, 2011 – UPS announced the extension of the company’s mobile Web site, m.ups.com to customers in Asia (China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and New Zealand) which allows customers mobile access to track packages, calculate shipping rates and find the nearest UPS location.

2010

• UPS launched UPS Import ControlSM, a new function that gives importers rather than exporters greater control over their inbound shipments. The new service reduces delays to the shipping process due to incorrect or incomplete documentation, and gives importers the ability to mask profit margins as they ship directly to end-customers.
• UPS introduced its carbon neutral programme in the Asia Pacific region, including the Philippines. UPS customers now have the option of paying a small fee to calculate and offset the impact of the carbon emissions associated with their shipments.

2008

• UPS rolls out 8 new products in 2008 for Asia Pacific - UPS Express Freight, UPS Air Freight Direct and UPS Air Freight Consolidated, UPS Paperless Invoice, UPS Returns, UPS Broker of Choice, UPS FTZ Facilitator and UPS Clinical Trials.

2007

• UPS introduced three daily time-definite delivery options.  The new services provide customers with more flexibility on lanes between the United States and Asia, Europe and the Americas, giving businesses three time-of-day delivery options in 30 of the world’s most active trading markets. 

2005

• In April 2005, UPS opens the newly expanded intra-Asia hub with an improved sorting capacity of 7,500 packages per hour.

2004

• UPS invested $1.4 million to facilitate the expansion of its Intra-Asia hub to meet the growing shipment volume in Clark.
• UPS currently has 18 flights coming in and out of the Intra-Asia Hub with routes passing through the following countries- Shanghai, Beijing, Cologne, Bombay, Anchorage, Honolulu, Nadi, Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, Incheon, Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Recently included an additional ATW flight that originates from Cologne and passes through the hubs in Dubai-Manila-Taipei-Bombay-Dubai- Cologne.
• UPS introduced UPS CampusShip® in the Philippines, offering customers the advantage of Web-based shipping solutions with centralized control and visibility ideal for decentralised office environments.

2003

• UPS launched Clark-Bangkok-Clark flight route.
• UPS’s largest cargo aircraft, MD-11, makes its inaugural flight to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport.
• UPS introduced the Clark-Kuala-Lumpur-Penang-Kuala Lumpur Clark flight route.
• UPS Worldwide Express® and UPS Worldwide Expedited® were introduced locally.
  

2002

• UPS launches its intra-Asia hub in Clark, Philippines, which facilitates nine (incoming and outgoing) flights daily.
