UPS employs 427,700 employees and spends roughly US$2.6 billion on health benefits each year covering approximately 725,000 people. These benefits range from typical medical, dental, and vision plans to wellness initiatives such as a tobacco cessation program and the availability of health coaches (Registered Nurses).

Despite rising healthcare costs, UPS continues to deploy innovative healthcare tools that are designed to improve the health and wellness of our people. Our strategy for reducing healthcare costs is focused on making our people smart healthcare consumers. Additionally we are engaging the health care system, providers, purchasers, the government and the health plans in order to work toward an effective system overhaul.
