As president of UPS Europe, Flick is based at the region headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and responsible for all UPS operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. UPS Europe accounts for nearly half of the company’s international revenue.
As a “day-one” employee of UPS’s first expansion outside of North America (Germany, 1976), Flick brings valuable experience of UPS operations and insight of the marketplace to the position. UPS employs over 26,500 in Europe and provides service to more than 120 countries and territories in the region.
Flick began his UPS career as a center supervisor in Giessen, Germany. From there he worked through various managerial positions in the Industrial Engineering department and package operations. Later, Flick was instrumental in opening UPS’s first air operations outside of the United States at the Cologne/Bonn airport (Germany) in 1986. Flick became district manager of UPS's European air and international operations in 1991 where he remained until 1995. After that, he spent three years working in the United States as manager of the Utah/Idaho District and then in 2001 accepted the position of managing director, UPS Germany, which is UPS’s largest market outside of the United States.
In January 2004, Flick took on his current position as president of UPS Europe, a critical region to UPS’s global business, with a well-established operation in a marketplace with huge potential.
