Nigel Watson brings more than 27 years of information technology (IT) experience to UPS. He is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of application systems that support UPS Airlines, Custom Brokerage, and Worldport, the company's state-of-the-art, 4 million-square-foot international air hub located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Watson began his UPS career in 1988 as a project manager responsible for billing systems, leading the effort to rewrite the system to support a plethora of new products and pricing strategies being introduced at that time. He held positions of increasing responsibility in applications development and in 1993 was named application manager for billing, package tracking, customer automation and call center systems.

From 1995 to 1998, Watson served as the Europe Region IT manager. Based in London and then, Brussels, he was responsible for the deployment of enterprise billing, package tracking and other customer support systems to support the launch of a new product portfolio across Europe. He was also charged with eliminating redundant telecommunication infrastructures and consolidating multiple IT groups across Europe.

Watson returned to UPS's corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1998 as the international IT coordinator. In that role, he was responsible for all international systems, including the coordination of the Y2K activities in all countries outside the United States. Watson assumed his current position in 2004.

Watson was born and raised near London, England, and earned his bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from the University of Bristol.
