| Mark Hilbush is the Information Services (I.S.) Corporate Repository & Architecture
(CRA) Portfolio Manager. Mark is responsible for Enterprise Architecture, Corporate
Repositories, Business Continuity, and IT Standards for UPS worldwide.
In March 1987, Mark began his UPS career as a Senior Analyst at Roadnet Technologies,
Inc. in Timonium, MD; Roadnet was eventually consolidated with UPS I.S. in 1995.
Mark held several positions of increasing responsibility and in 1993, joined
the Customer Technology Portfolio, where he was responsible for UPS OnLine Professional,
UPS’s first Windows-based desktop shipping system. In December 1996, Mark
assumed responsibility for UPS’s public Internet site, UPS.com. During
the eight years in which he was responsible for UPS.com, UPS’s Internet
presence dramatically changed the way customers interact with UPS. Applications
such as Package Tracking, Internet Shipping, CampusShip, MyUPS, On Call Pickup
and OnLine Tools gave customers unprecedented levels of access to UPS information
and services.
Mark was promoted to Applications Manager in September 2005, and was responsible
for the systems that support the operation of UPS domestic and international
package operations, as well as its automated ground hubs. In this capacity,
he was responsible for Package Flow Technology, Automated Package Sorting Systems,
Package Planning Systems, Scanning Systems and International Operations Systems.
Mark has more than 25 years experience in the field of information technology.
Prior to joining UPS, Mark held a variety of software development positions
at a U.S. defense contracting firm and a telecommunications firm.
A native of Shamokin, PA, Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical
Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. He
also studied Computer Science at George Washington University in Washington,
D.C., with concentrations in telecommunications and artificial intelligence.
