| As Vice President of Information Services, Stu Sutliff leads the Customer Information Management (CIM) organization. CIM is responsible for the program management of all enterprise-wide systems at UPS that “touch” the customer. Key to CIM’s role is to tie business users with the information technology (IT) organization, helping to ensure that IT stays aligned with the business to best meet customer needs.
Sutliff’s involvement in IT governance extends to his active involvement in a number of committees. He is the chairman of the Information Access and Security Governance Committee and is a member of the Information Technology Governance Committee. Sutliff functions as the IT representative to the company’s Corporate Compliance Committee and serves on the Information and Technology Strategy Committee.
Sutliff began his UPS career in 1973 as a night cashier. In 1975, he was promoted to part-time preload supervisor and continued with other positions of increasing responsibility in accounting. In 1981, Sutliff was named Systems Manager in the accounting function in the North Illinois district. Two years later, he joined the Metro Chicago district accounting group and was named the Utah District Controller in 1985.
Sutliff worked in several UPS corporate finance and accounting management positions before moving into Information Services full-time in 1993.
Sutliff received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University and a master’s degree in project management from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the School of Information Technology Advisory Board at Georgia Southern University and is the UPS liaison to the Department of Computer Information Services Affiliates Program at Georgia State University. |
