UPS Hiring 2,000 Local Santa’s Helpers

Workers Needed to Help Deliver Holiday Packages

ATLANTA, Nov. 30, 2006 - In its role as Santa's helper, UPS anticipates hiring 2,000 temporary seasonal workers in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area to help deliver packages this holiday season.

UPS delivery areas in which positions are available beginning today include Northwest Atlanta, Cumming, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Suwanee, Canton and Roswell.

In launching the local hiring effort, UPS will be conducting interviews on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Doraville and Roswell locations between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Those interested must apply and schedule an interview online at www.upsjobs.com. These positions are paid $8.50 an hour. Holiday hiring will end when UPS's employment needs are met.

UPS anticipates hiring roughly 60,000 seasonal workers nationwide. UPS reinforcements will help deliver an anticipated 15 to 21 million packages a day between now and Christmas.

Holiday employees have an opportunity to apply for a permanent position after Dec. 31. Permanent part-time employees can take advantage of the company's generous health benefits package, 401(k) plan and tuition reimbursement program (in select areas).

Since its establishment in 1907, UPS has become an employer of choice. The company's nationally recognized human resources initiatives, such as Welfare to Work, School to Work, Earn and Learn and the Community Internship Program, help UPS maintain one of the world's largest and most talented workforces.
