UPS Speeds Up In Poland: Network Enhancements Improve Time In Transit
Continued transformation efforts of UPS’s smart global logistics network better connects small businesses with export opportunities across Europe
UPS (NYSE: UPS) today announced a number of improvements to its network and infrastructure that reduce transit times for shipments to and from Romania. Customers from areas of Poland shipping to destinations in Romania with UPS Standard®, UPS’s most economical ground-based service, will now benefit from shipping that is up to one day faster.
“Poland has established itself as one of Europe’s most dynamic export economies. UPS’s export volume from Poland grew by more than 5% in the first half of this year, showing that there is growing demand and that more companies are turning to UPS to help them grow through exporting,” said Piotr Sitarek, general manager, UPS Poland. “To help businesses of all sizes, and especially small businesses, reach their customers on time and at the right price, we’re leveraging the efficiency of our network to speed up our time in transit for our most economical service by up to 24 hours.”
According to the UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper™ study, 38% of global online shoppers will abandon their cart if they feel the delivery cost is higher than anticipated. With faster shipping using UPS’s economical ground-based UPS Standard® service, businesses in Poland can continue to increase customer satisfaction by getting products to their customers quickly and affordably.
The recent enhancements to UPS’s service are part of the company’s $2 billion investment in its European network and infrastructure through 2019. Recent investments as part of this program include the opening of three super hubs in London, Paris, and Eindhoven, the Netherlands, as well as new operational facilities in Mysłowice and Stryków. As a result of these and other investments, customers can now reach more than 80% of Europe’s population within two business days using UPS Standard®.
